SSE is seeking a Head of Finance who will play a crucial role in ensuring SSE’s long-term financial resilience and support for our mission to empower social entrepreneurs.
We’re seeking a proactive and strategic leader who can inspire and guide a small finance team, fostering a collaborative, supportive, and high-performance culture. The Head of Finance will also drive innovation in financial reporting and control systems, ensuring the team meets evolving organisational needs.

impact officer (12 months, fixed-term)
- Salary: £31,939 (pro-rata) + 5% pension
- Location: Flexible, UK based

SSE is seeking an Impact Officer who can generate impactful research and evaluation to support the delivery of regular data and insights to the Senior Management Team (SMT) enabling progress to be tracked against organisational objectives.
The Impact Officer will support the Impact Lead working alongside them, as well partly covering 6 months of parental leave for the Impact Lead.
This role is essential for ensuring SSE meets its impact, data, and evaluation needs during the parental leave period. Additionally, there is scope to enhance SSE’s approach to impact evaluation and learning, including expanding our research and policy initiatives.
This position is perfect for someone with a curious & insightful mindset motivated by making a tangible difference through research and impact and insight.

Volunteering
Trustees
SSE is seeking to appoint 2 new members to the Board of Trustees who will be responsible for agreeing the strategic aims, objectives and direction of the charity. You will use your knowledge, skills and experience to ensure SSE achieves its charitable objectives, represents the interests of all its’ stakeholders and act as an advocate for SSE.
Remuneration: The role of Trustee is unremunerated, although reasonable out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed.
Time commitment: 4 quarterly board meetings per year in March, June, October, and December. During the first 18 months as a trustee, you will be expected to attend at least two Finance, Audit & Risk committee meetings, which are held online. You may also be expected to attend board working group meetings.
Location: 3 board meetings a year will take place in London. 1 board meeting a year will coincide with the trustee’s annual away day, held outside of London.
Terms: Trustees serve an initial three-year term and are eligible for re-appointment for an additional consecutive term of three years. In exceptional circumstances or when particular skills are an ongoing requirement, this may be longer.
