Unlocking Social Investment: speakers announced

We’ve now announced the full speaker line-up for Wednesday October 21st’s Unlocking Social Investment workshop. The day runs from 10:30am – 4:30pm at SSE London.
- Seb Elsworth, Chief Executive of Access (the new foundation for social investment) will provide an overview of the social investment marketplace and the opportunities for your organisation; Access aims to support charities and social enterprises to take a first step on the social investment ladder.
- Seb will then be joined on a panel by Caroline Forster of Social Investment Business and Paul Davies of Charity Bank. This is your opportunity to learn more about what investors are looking for and the process that you need to go through to win investment.
- In the afternoon, Turly Humphries, CEO of Circle Sports, and Mayhul Gondhea of Big Issue Invest will present a ‘warts and all’ case study of how a social investment deal is structured. Mayhul manages the early stage Corporate Social Venturing ‘CSV’ Challenge, which recently supported Circle Sports.
- Finally, Hugh Rolo of Locality will discuss community shares, a type of type of investment has been used to finance shops, pubs, community buildings, renewable energy initiatives, local food schemes, along with a host of other community based ventures.
