Remembering Luljeta Nuzi

We were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Luljeta Nuzi after a long fight with cancer.

Luli played an integral role in the success of SSE. After first joining SSE as a student in 2002, Luli went on to serve as a trustee at SSE for 15 years until 2019, bringing her natural warmth and wisdom to this role. In 2024, we were delighted to welcome Luli back as a student on our 2024 Scale Up Programme.

Luli founded and led Shpresa Programme, a charity that promotes the participation and contribution of Albanian-speaking refugees and migrants in the UK, working with all members of the community including refugees, migrants, young people and families, including those affected by domestic violence and mental health issues. At SSE we were fortunate to partner with Shpresa on a number of our learning programmes, helping us to reach new communities along the way.

Luli will be greatly missed by all those at SSE. Our thoughts are with her family, friends and the many people whose lives she touched through her inspiring journey as one of the UKs foremost Social Entrepreneurs.
