Meet the game changers
Curious about what’s possible when passion meets business?
See how the Go! London Young Entrepreneurs Start-Up Programme has helped young Londoners turn their love for sport into real businesses.
From securing partnerships with major brands to building enterprises that make a difference, these entrepreneurs are proving what’s possible with the right support and opportunity.
“The programme has significantly boosted confidence in both myself and my team. The study days and overall structure have been thorough and comprehensive, with my programme manager providing invaluable support throughout. The staff have been exceptionally supportive, which cannot be overstated.
I have gained valuable skills in pitching my ideas, but the most significant benefit has been the network I have built.
“Connections with organisations such as the GLA, LDN Marathon, SSE, and my fellow cohort members have resulted in meaningful relationships that will endure beyond the programme.”
It’s also helped to ‘bulletproof’ my business by focusing on key aspects such as safeguarding, incorporation, insurance, finances, and share structures. The emphasis on building effective systems has transformed my understanding of business growth and the importance of establishing a strong foundation for scaling successfully.”
“We’ve successfully built valuable partnerships, including those with Red Bull, Harlequins, and Tottenham Hotspur”
The Go! London Young Entrepreneurs programme has played a key role in refining our approach.
Key learnings have included:
- Strategic planning and financial management, which has allowed us to grow our revenue and develop a more sustainable model.
- Brand development and marketing, which has helped us enhance our visibility and connect with a wider audience.
- Community engagement: The programme supported us in improving our outreach and ensuring our programs are not only accessible but impactful in the communities we serve.
“I feel more confident in my decisions and understand how to deal with certain situations when they arise.”
The grant has enabled me to run the classes as I have not done something like this and as an individual who finds it hard to take personal risks in business, the fund has enabled me to take that risk without losing my own savings.
It was such a success that I feel more confident in putting more of my own into the business but I also realise that business always goes up and down. I have also understood more about the business world from the sessions as for someone who never had a clue on it.
