Courses FAQ
Here we will answer some of the most commonly asked questions about our courses. If the question you need to ask isn’t listed below, please contact us and we will help.
Why do you charge for some courses, but not others?
SSE continuously seeks funding from corporates, individuals and grant making trusts to fund our growing list of longer duration programmes. This enables social entrepreneurs to attend these courses for free or at least at a heavily reduced fee. This is the social side of the School for Social Entrepreneurs! For some of our more specialist courses and one-day workshops we charge participants; this is the enterprise side of the School for Social Entrepreneurs. Surplus from these courses is reinvested back into the organisation to help us achieve our mission of addressing inequalities and social exclusion by supporting social entrepreneurs from all backgrounds to succeed.
How do I book onto a course?
If a course asks you to ‘register your interest’ complete the online form and the school responsible for delivering the course will be in touch with further booking details.
If you are given the option to ‘book your place’, you can book your place instantly online. Simply complete the form and select your preferred payment option.
How do I pay for a course?
You can pay online using a credit or debit card. We use an online payment platform called Stripe to process payments. Stripe is security certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1, the most stringent level of certification available.
If you would prefer to pay by invoice, simply request this option when prompted and our finance team will be in touch.
Why do you deliver some courses in some locations, but not others?
Each of our schools is responsible for the range of courses that they deliver. If there is a course that you think that they should offer, contact them and let them know!
Do I need any qualifications to go on a course at SSE?
No, none.
Are your courses open to everyone?
In most circumstances, yes. The only exception is that our courses are not open to consultants or those acting as intermediaries. If you are not sure whether you fit into one of these categories, please contact us on 020 7089 9120.
