Wigan Social Innovators in Health & Wellbeing Start Up Programme
Are you working to encourage more people to cycle and walk in Wigan or do you have a business idea that can help to do this?
The Social Innovators in Health & Wellbeing Start Up Programme, supported by Wigan Council, will support passionate people in Wigan whose role, business idea or early stage social enterprise promotes cycling and walking as a way to improve the health and wellbeing of Wigan residents.
Looking to set up or grow an early stage business?
If you’re looking to set up or grow an early stage business, the Social Innovators in Health & Wellbeing Start Up Programme, will help you to build strong foundations upon which to start and grow a sustainable social enterprise, measure and report upon your social and environmental impact and develop the skills and contacts to extend your reach across the borough.
Looking to further support social enterprises?
If you’re working in a publicly funded role and your aim is to support social enterprises operating in this sector, the programme will help you develop your understanding of social entrepreneurial approaches to improving health and wellbeing. It will support you to develop public entrepreneurship attributes, skills and knowledge, build new relationships, leverage resources and promote cross sector working.
The Social Innovators in Health & Wellbeing Start Up Programme will build a supportive network of likeminded people who want to create significant and sustainable change across the Wigan Borough.
Key benefits:

Our commitment to diversity, inclusion and accessibility
We recognise that discrimination of all sorts infiltrates every part of our society, and we are working hard to counter that wherever we find it. To that end, we actively encourage applications from people of all faiths, races, gender identities, sexual orientations, economic circumstances and backgrounds, as well as those from disabled communities. No educational qualifications are needed to join our programmes.
Reasonable adjustments regarding accessibility will be made to ensure all are welcomed onto the programme. Please get in touch – we’re happy to talk things through.
