SSE fellows and MD Nicola Steuer among 100 leading women in social enterprise
1 Nov 2018
Well, we must be doing something right here at the School for Social Entrepreneurs. One in seven of the leading women in social enterprise have been part of SSE’s leadership team or have been supported by us.
That’s according to the NatWest WISE100 (Women in Social Enterprise 100) – the annual index produced by Pioneers Post of the most inspiring and influential women in social enterprise, impact investment and mission-driven business.
We’re especially chuffed that our managing director, Nicola Steuer, was one of two women spotlighted in the ‘general nominations’ category. She’s far too modest to admit it, but all of us here know this is richly deserved.
Here are the women who made this year’s WISE100 who have worked at or been supported by SSE:
- Beverley Dean MBE, Founder & CEO, Special iApps C.I.C. – SSE fellow
- Celia Hodson, Founder & CEO, Hey Girls – former CEO of SSE Australia and founding CEO of the Eastern Enterprise Hub, which launched SSE East
- Emily Mathieson, Founder & Director, Aerende – SSE student
- Dr Eve Hepburn, Chief Executive & Editor-in-Chief, Fearless Femme CIC – SSE fellow
- Eve Wagg, CEO, Well Grounded Jobs – SSE fellow
- Hannah Broughton, board chair, The Therapeutic Forest and CEO, Twinkle Boost – SSE student
- Hinnah Rafique, Director, Generation Medics – SSE student
- Jane Strand, founder, Wild Oyster – SSE student
- Kelly Walker-Reed, Founder, Inspiring Healthy Choices CIC – SSE fellow
- La’Toyah Lewis, Managing Director, Rising Stars Property Solutions CIC – SSE fellow, whose inspiring story you can watch in this video:
- Melanie Glass, Director, Devenishgirl CIC – SSE fellow
- Naomi Mwasambili, CEO & Co-founder, Chanua – SSE fellow and one of our trustees
- Nicola Steuer, Managing Director, School For Social Entrepreneurs
- Sylvia Douglas, Founder & Director, MsMissMrs – SSE fellow
- Teresa Reynolds, Founder, Incredible Brilliant Youth – SSE student
We’re so proud to have been a part of all these amazing women’s journeys, and grateful for their contributions to the SSE community.
Congratulations to all the women who made the WISE100.
